View Coding Notices
Your 'PAYE Coding Notice' tells you what your tax code is and how it's worked
out. The tax code tells your employer or pension provider what tax-free
earnings you're entitled to (if any) over the tax year and, as a result, how
much tax to take off your income before they pay you. You may need your Coding
Notice to help you to complete your Self Assessment tax return.
Initially you will be able to view Coding Notices issued on or after 10
October 2011 (or the date you registered for the Self Assessment online
service if later).
In due course, you will be able to view PAYE Coding Notices issued on or after
10 October 2011 for the:
-
current tax year
-
previous tax year
-
next tax year
You won't be able to view any Coding Notices you received before you
registered for Self Assessment Online.
If you have an agent acting for you who is registered for the Self Assessment
for Agents online service, they will also be able to see your PAYE Coding
Notices online.
