Thanks for the question above and the response. I had the same struggle. Also I never receive emails telling me there has been a response. Shouldn't I?

Otherwise love the service though sometimes I need more than link guys are great. Maybe some of the repeating questions can feed into improving the guidance online on the self assessment online form..

Thanks so much for your feedback, we really do appreciate you taking the time to give us your thoughts.

I appreciate your frustrations with trying to find questions you asked to see if there has been any response to these. You’re right as well that you should receive emails to let you know that there has been a response; unfortunately this service is currently unavailable. We’re looking to see if any improvements can be made to functionality to make the Forum easier to use for all our customers. We should have some exciting developments on this shortly, which we will let our customers know about as soon as we can.

I also appreciate your sentiments around sometimes needing more than a link to guidance. We do our best to provide advice and support, and oftentimes we are unable to be more specific due to not having all the facts of the case before us. As this is a public forum we cannot go into the level of detail some queries require. We are constantly reviewing the quality of our answers, so if you feel your question hasn’t been answered fully please do let us know and we will be happy to review and provide additional advice if we can.

Thank you also for your suggestion for some of the repeated questions feeding into improving the guidance online on the Self Assessment form. This is something we will certainly explore with our colleagues who are responsible for this area.

HI, I am perplexed and dont know where to post this.

I am a micro employer. I am attorney for my 90 year old mother who has dementia and who employs a part time carer. The sort of employer who HMRC has been keen to bring into the fold.

When I first registered I spent the best part of the day trying to log in so I could read the emails I was being sent. Finally the accountant who does the payslips said to simply pay the money and ignore the emails. I can, if I try hard enough, navigate my way through the other clunky system to check whether my mother is owning money. Though ended up with a fine one when I paid the tax to my mums Inland Revenue account not the employees one by mistake. Now I am getting floods of emails about all manner of things. But cannot raise queries unless I log in and my query is about how to log in.

It would be really useful if you could separate micro employers from others. We are expected to perform to the same standards but with a tiny fraction of the resources, experience or skills. Caring for my mother is difficult. Having to be a personnel department with the current level of tax and other support only adds to the burden.
