Charity giving

I know there is a box to include charity giving. I gift aid all my donations and I am not a higher tax payer so will not be able to claim the higher rate tax relief back. Therefore do i need to declare my charity giving here? What if I can't recall all of it?

Hi,

You do not need to declare the donations you have made if you are a basic rate tax payer.

Hello,

If income is less than £10000, can small amounts be given to charity and let them claim tax relief? Does this need to be recorded on self assessment?

Hi,

Anyone can make charitable donations, however only taxpayers can make these under the gift aid arrangements as in effect the charity is claiming the tax paid by that person from HMRC. Where a charity claims tax relief under the name of a non taxpayer, the donator will then get a bill from HMRC to pay the tax back.
