Different pay weeks

08/04/2019 11:47:08
Have just done the first calculation for 3 employees, to be paid on 11.4.19
2 of the calculations have pay record 1 and the other has pay record 2, ie week 1 and week 2.
Why should there be a difference when the calculation and date of payment are the same for all 3?

Hi

You should query this with your software provider as every payroll software is different. If you use HMRC's Basic PAYE Tools to do your payroll then please contact HMRC's Online Helpdesk. Contact details are available on the Government website including a webchat option.

I currently have the BASIC PAYE TOOlS on my laptop but I have purchased a new on so now need it on that. How do I download the BASIC PAYE TOOL onto it and keep all the information I've already processed?

Hi,

You will need to follow these instructions:

To back up the data:

Select 'Home' at the top of the screen

Select 'Backup your data' on 'Menu'

You will then be given the option where you save the back-up file to, although there will be a 'default' location displayed. If you wish to change this (e.g. to a memory stick), you will need to select the 'Browse' button, and locate the folder/drive where you wish to save the back-up data to. Once the location has been chosen select 'Save' and then 'Next'.

Your data will have been backed-up.

For info, the name of the backup file will be in the format RTI-vv-v-vvvvv-vvv__yyyy-mm-dd_tttt.zip (where 'vv-v-vvvvv-vvv' is the BPT version number and 'yyyy-mm-dd_tttt' is the date and time the backup file was created). For example, RTI-19-0-19100-543__2019-04-06_1200.zip

To restore the data:

Ensure that the latest version of BPT is installed onto the new/second computer.

Insert their portable device (e.g. memory stick) containing the backed up file into the computer.

Open the BPT

Select 'Home' at the top of the screen

Select 'Restore your data' on 'Menu'

Select 'Browse' and locate the backup file on the portable device

With the back-up file highlighted, select 'Open' or 'Choose' and then 'Next'.

Your data should then be restored.
