Council tax expense when property is unlet

09/05/2019 11:15:03
I was unable to let my property for several months and was obliged to pay council tax myself during that period. It is now let again. Is the council tax I paid during the unlet period an allowable expense?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

As the property has now been re-let, the council tax paid whilst the property was empty and in between tenants is an allowable expense.

I hope this helps.
