Invoices to Turkey and India

17/05/2019 09:21:06
Hi,

We are a UK company who is storing some goods for companies based in India and Turkey. They arrange to deliver their goods to our company and then come and collect them. We will only be charging them for the storage. When we raise the invoice to them should we charge vat at standard rate or should the invoice be zero rated.

Thank you

If your services are within the U K then it is vatable. You are not exporting to another country.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

Where the space provided is in a relevant structure and it is used for the storage of goods (by the customer or a third party with the customer’s permission), the supply is standard-rated.

You can find more information on this subject at the following website:

VAT information sheet 10/13: provision of storage facilities
