Rental Income Vs Earned Income

17/05/2019 08:51:43
I let out two properties and I manage these properties myself. This means I arrange all the repairs, doing some of them myself. I find new tenants, obtain references, and I submit my own tax accounts etc.
My question is can I show some of my income from my properties as earned income as opposed to rental income? My overall taxable income would be the same.
An agent typically charges at least 10% of the gross income and an account several hundred pounds to submit a tax return. As I do these jobs can I show these as earnings?

Thanks for your question.

It is not possible to claim a deduction for the time you spend working in your own rental business and treat this as wages.
