Where we have purchased clothes which we then had branded with the business logo and name, can we claim for these as business expenses? Self employed sole trader, no employees.

I'm told we can add something for cleaning workwear too but can't find any mention of that in guidance.

Hi

I can confirm the cost of purchasing a uniform with a logo is allowable as a business expense. I attach the link to our website which confirms.

https://www.gov.uk/expenses-if-youre-self-employed/clothing

You can also work out how much it costs you to clean your uniform and claim that as an expense too. However, there is no set amount.

Kind regards

Thank you so much for your advice here. I will claim for my husband's work clothes which we brand with our business logo.
I have no idea how to include cleaning costs as they aren't dry cleaned but at least I can claim for the clothes.
Thank you - very helpful
