Hi
I assume that you are completing the HS295 claim form for holdover relief. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/600017/HS295_claim_form_2017.pdf
If so, the only references required are your own Unique Taxpayer Reference or National Insurance Number. In the case where the sum has already been reported under Inheritance Tax, you will then be asked to provide the Inheritance Tax reference. If the form is requesting a capital office reference number, you may have an old version of the form. The link above will give you the most up to date version for 2017.

Kind regards

I'm including a holdover relief claim in the 16/17 tax return and i'm being asked for a capital office ref no.
I've searched the internet looking for a ref no for NW Mids & Shropshire, but unfortunately nothing is popping up.
Any ideas?

Many Thanks
